Bible phrase on the bottom of my Forever 21 bag...
I was folding a plastic Forever 21 bag and the bottom of the bag said, "John 3:16"
I looked up this passage on the internet
"John 3:16 (New International Version)
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Strange, no?

This is probably one of the most popular bible quotes. it is the crux of the Christian faith so that's why you see it a lot, particularly those that evangelize. but yes, i do think it's strange that it was in a bag that you bought.

Well, it's a bible verse, not a phrase ...
and the significence of John 3:16 is that it basically sums up Christianity. Christians believe that God sent his son, Jesus, to save us sinners, and that if we believe in Him we go to heaven. Christianity in its simplest form.
So its at football games its a widespread way to get the message out. I'm surprised that it would be on a Forever 21 bag though.

I got it. When I had seen it a couple of times I guess I thought that it would be more about perseverence or never give up, or something like that.

I live in NC where this is normal. John 3:16 "G-d Bless America" is the lose translation. Psalms and stuff are on bags, to go cups, hamburger wrappers. Yes, I am Jewish and the only reason I know John 3:16 is because I lurve Cook-Out (NC place) milkshakes.
