BF Moms -- anyone experience a drop in supply at 6 mos?

I have been pretty much EBF DS since birth. He does get a bottle of formula maybe 2-3x's a week because I don't have that large of a stash of BM.

I can usually only pump 2x's a day at work... at 10:30am and 3:30pm. I've been back at work for 2 mos and was consistently getting between 8-10 oz each time I pumped.

DS is now 6 months and all of a sudden I am only pumping about 5oz at each session. We did start food and cereal after his 4 month checkup so I don't see how it would be impacting my supply now (2 mos later)? He is teething too, could that have something to do with it?

I started drinking mother's milk tea, and am going to snack on some oatmeal in awhile, but just wanted to know if anyone else experienced this? I'm not ready to stop yet - I actually love the convenience of BF!

I did with ds. It was bc af was on her way. After af left my supply went back up. Oatmeal and Gatorade usually id the trick for me. I would keep an eye out for af is she hasn't already returned.

Yes, once they start eating solid food, they drink less. It's normal. You can try all the home remedies to increase it, but it just starts to happen the more that they eat.

Yes, around that time it got a lot harder to get all the milk I used to get. I especially had a hard time on Mondays and Tuesday because DS wasn't taking as much over the weekend. I took more milk plus which helped for a couple months. Then @ 8 months DS dropped a bottle and it all worked out. Now at 10 months its dipping again but DS eats a lot of food so I'm not too worried about it.

Don't worry- its not over yet. I remember thinking the same thing and we're still going strong at 10 months! Maybe try adding another pumping session for a week.
