Best method to get sticker/glue off

I have something that has individual price stickers on. When I try to take them off the top comes off but the gluey part sticks on. How do I get it off? What is easiest? It's on metal

a product called Un-Du. It's awesome, doesn't stain either. You can get it at Staples or AC Moore or Michaels - in those stores it will be in the scrapbooking section by the adhesives.

Sounds weird, but cooking oil.

We had gotten a plastic garbage pail for the bathroom with a huge sticker on it. Putting a small amount of cooking oil, and rubbing it in takes off the stickyness.

I think the primary ingredient in "goo gone" is oil.

GENIUS! thanks for posting that.. I'll DEFINITELY try that next time. I never bought goo begone becuase stickers are frequently on food containers and other things I don't want chemicals to mix with.....

WD-40 or cooking oil (for things like cookie sheets that you don't want to use chemicals on)

I just use really hot water and a sponge. Stickies come right off.
