Bee Sting

My 2-year-old daughter was stung 2x's by a bee today. She had a circle about the size of a pea w/ a red dot in the middle. She appears to be OK but the Dr. told me to give her Benadryl just in case.

Should I be concerned about any reaction? She seems fine, only cried for a few minutes. Will it itch her or hurt her in the next few days?

Re: Bee Sting

IF there is no reacton now she should be ok. It will probably hurt at first then itch. I hope she is feeling better soon.

Poor baby!
Any major reaction would have already happened., so i'm sure she's okay.

Poor thing!! By now she should be fine and I hope the Benadryl is working. Any type of allergic reaction would have happened within the first few minutes. Just make sure you got the stinger out.

Re: Bee Sting

Overall she seems fine. There didn't seem to be any allergic reaction or respiratory problems.

We gave her Benadryl at around 5:30 pm last night and expected her to go down like a ton of bricks. But no, not our child! She was up until her usual bedtime and just got a little groggy from the Benadryl. She slept through the night and seems perfectly fine today.

As bad as it sounds I am kinda glad she had her first bee sting while we were around. It was always in the back of my mind if she was at school/camp and something happened. Now I know she is not allergic.

Thanks for all the advice and concern.Chat Icon
