Baby Bunny in my backyard and it's family is gone! Update: he is still there~!
This morning my dog uncovered a bunch of baby bunnies. When I realized what had happened, I brought him in and most of the bunnies escaped. Except there is one in my backyard right now who has been there since 7am and won't move! He is alive but he is huddled against my fence. What should I do? His family has not come back! I don't want something to happen to him!!! help!

I am the wrong person to ask because i would give it a couple more hours, then i would take him inside! I am not sure what i would do with him after that but i guess i would call a vet and ask! Poor baby bunny!

His mom should come back for him. I had that happen to me when I was a kid...my cat found the bunnies..we kept the cat in the house for the rest of the day and night and the next day the mommy bunny came back for her little one

We had a baby in my garage ... scared it out and it stayed glued to the side of the house for hours then disappeared.
The next day there were two little ones in another area of the yard.
And we have adult bunnies all the time in the yard so we assumed they "reunited".

I would leave him until tomorrow morning and if he's still there take him to a local vet or you could call a wildlife rescue.

Well, as I was typing the original post, the guy who mows our lawn came and after he left the bunny was gone - or so I thought. I walked over to the area where he was originally this morning and he was there, shaking, freaking out (probably because he was almost weed whacked!)
Then, I just went back out and he is officially gone!! I am hoping he found his way back to him mommy!!!

I thought he was gone but he is still there! I just put some lettuce and bell peppers out for him and a shallow lid with water in it.

aww that is so nice of you  Poor baby. If his mom doesn't come back I seriously would take him and bring him to the vet or something (but that is just me, I am a nut about animals!)

Call the Wildlife Rescue maybe they can direct you
I had a baby bunny a couple years ago that was abandoned.. I took him in after I realized that he was going to die if I didn't help him (he was really really small) I had to dropper feed him kitten formula every 2 hrs.
