Audrina Patridge has long been a sidekick to Lauren Conrad on The Hills, but now that she’s teaming up with Mark Burnett — whom she dubs “the Spielberg of reality” — she’s set to be the star of her own show, and she’s revealing more details about the project.

“It’s my life after The Hills, my journey. It’s going to be a little spicier, edgier, older,” Patridge tells PEOPLE at the premiere party for her first movie, Into the Blue 2: The Reef, on Tuesday night.

The Hills has focused on her relationships with Conrad and sometimes boyfriend Justin Bobby, while her upcoming venture will offer up a closer look at her Hollywood lifestyle. That means cameras will capture paparazzi run-ins and her career pursuits, which include an upcoming role in the horror film Sorority Row and her Divine Rights of Denim line. “It’s also [about] how I stay grounded with my family,” says Patridge, who hints that the show may not take place in Los Angeles.

Another tease: a possible end to Justin Bobby. “There’s going to be new love, romances,” she promises. While she can’t say whether or not he will appear on her show, there will be a resolution to their stormy union before the end of The Hills.

“It could resolve things in a good way or in a bad way. You’ll have to see,” she says. “But put it this way, I don’t really hold back. I just let it all out this season. I fight back.”

Even though she’s ready to move on from her “home” on The Hills, she insists that she will forever be grateful for her launching pad. “There is a sadness … [The show] gave me these opportunities, and the cast and the crew almost became like a family. But at this point all of us are ready to branch out, and I feel like all of us have changed and matured so much that we’re ready to go out for the next big challenge.”

Well, everybody but Heidi and Spencer, that is. “[They] want to continue The Hills forever!” she says. – Jenny Sundel
