At what age do they start reaching for things and grabbing them?

DS is not really doing this yet. When he sits in his bouncy seat he does bat at the objects that hang over his head.

But when we put him on the gym mat we'll place a little toy on the mat and he doesn't really try to reach for it and grab it.

He still doesn't have a good grip on objects either. He'll hold it for like 1 minute and then just drops it. Like for example if I give him a teething ring or a rattle he'll hold it put it in his mouth for a couple of seconds and then drops it.

Andrew started reaching for things and grabbing them about a month or so ago.

I am sure it is fine but I would let your ped know anyway.

ETA: about 3 1/2 months

Ella started reaching for things around 3 months. Now (at 4 months) she grabs everything (and tries to put it in her mouth )

Ali has been doing this for a while - maybe at 3 months.

Sometimes, some baby's are a little slower than others. I would mention this to your pediatrician, with all of the other questions you have too

I'll put objects in front of him and sometimes he'll touch it and maybe even grab it but he's not really doing it a lot. Maybe he's a slow learner and needs more time.
