Are you getting/registering for more than one convertible car seat?
We were thinking we would just keep it in one car and switch off or just move it around.

We did for my first DD. DH drops her off at daycare and I pick up so I knew we needed two. If only one of you is really going to be driving your DC around then I guess it is fine. Some of them though are a PITA to put in. My Roundabout is so much easier to install than DH's Comfort Sport.

Re: Are you getting/registering for more than one convertible car seat?
since we have registries at 2 different places (BBB an BRU) and put a few doubles on the registries we decided it would make sense to put 2 convertible carseats on there b/c we will need 2 anyway. Our plan is that once the baby starts daycare (at 6 mos) DH will be dropping him off and I will be picking him up. So, we will need 2 carseats.
I am also going to buy one for my mom b/c she may need to pick up DC sometimes. The Cosco scenera is very reasonably priced and highly recommended by baby bargains for a grandparents car.

We registered for two. Both DH and I are going to be picking up and dropping off DC on different days. I watch my niece once a week and right now we have to switch the carseat when I want to take her anywhere. It is not a total pain but I can't imagine doing that every morning!

it depends on the type of car you have. There is a website that lists the best carseats for certain cars (ie: which ones fit best). I would suggest looking there first. I forget website but i'm pretty sure you can just google carseat compatability and it will come up.
