Anyone want to share their tax season tips?
What are things you claim as deductions?
How do you keep track of your deductions?
I have ideas in my head, but I'm sure there are things that I miss, so I'm looking for tips.

there is a teacher's discount... $250.00 tax deductible. you don't need to submit receipts. it's not a lot obviously, but i'll take it. we all spend at least that on our classes!

My best tip:
Go to a professional who knows what he/she is doing. They know the Law, what you can deduct and tell you about deductions you would not even think of.
I used to do my own taxes. No more!

Go to a professional who knows what he/she is doing. They know the Law, what you can deduct and tell you about deductions you would not even think of.

I keep track of anything I think might be deductable, keep it in a spreadsheet and keep all receipts that go with them. Then I bring them to a professional who can decide what is legit and what isn't. On my list is ANYTHING I bought that has anything to do with my job/career or DH's, any medical expenses and charitable contributions.
