I live in western suffolk and work in eastern nassau.

I run after work, until the daylight gets a bit longer that I can make it home first.

I'm in a marthon training cycle, so my long runs are longer than the half (until the end of March), but I'd be happy to join you midweek.

Where in Western Suffolk? I have 2 children under 2, so I'd probably only be good for the weekend run. I'm guessing this is for the LI Half?

Re: anyone wanna start a half marathon training group??

While I am not training for a race, I would love to run with a group on weekends. Keep me posted if anyone gets anything going. There is a really nice path that begins off of Sunrise Hwy in Massapequa (by the train) and it goes all the way into Bethpage Park. It's paved and has mile markers the whole way. It actually runs next to Bethpage Parkway. It's about 6.5 miles to the end (and then back is about a 13 mile total). I used to run it when I was training for a half marathon years ago. It's secluded so I wouldn't do it alone as a woman but with a group would be awesome.

I'd love to join you guys- I'm thinking about trying for a half marathon but I'm on the fence about it! So far, I've only done a 10k. Chat Icon But I would love to meet for some runs and see how it goes! Chat Icon
