Anyone thinking or did have another baby right away?

DH wants 3 and I want more too, but how hard is it to have them very close in age? I just had a baby a month ago and he wants to start soon. My age is a factor too, I am 36 and I dont want to have children in my 40's if I can help it.
Can you please give any input, advice or personal opinions? Thank you.

I personally am so overwhelmed with one baby, that I can't imagine having another one too soon. DH would like for us to start trying again next winter, but we'll see about that.
But of course, this is a very personal decision. My friend's kids are 13 months apart and though it wasn't exactly planned that way, it's worked out really well for her. She said it was a little tough in the begining, but she was blessed with two fairly well behaved/sleeping children. Now they're 3 and 4 and they're the BESt of friends. I love seeing the two of them together.

Well we didn't think it, it just kinda happened. My DD and #2 will be 14 months apart.

At first i was scared to death, how will i take care of a newborn and a toddler, but that quickly disapated.

I love now that they will be so close in age.
They will be close friends forever
I am still in the groove of diapers, formula
My baby gear is still out
We're still in baby mode
We remember what sleep deprivation feels like.
I cannot wait to be done with being pg, after this one the factory is closed!

I am almost exactly 2 years older than my bro, and we grew up best of friends, and are still very close. My DH and his sister are 3 years apart, and that extra year is so much more different, they are worlds apart.

I went from denial, to fright, to panic, to joy, then excitement.

As a 37 year old, I am planning on having our second child soon. We will start trying this summer.

NO. In fact we don't know if we'll have another - he says no and I say "not now". Although I'm pretty sure I'll eventually change my mind...IF DS ever starts sleeping through again...

we are going to start trying for #2 the end of this year.

edited to say- i'm not on birth control though- so if it happens it happens- although for it to happen we have to do it- which isn't happening thanks to the baby.

I think for everyone the answer is different. If you work you have the cost of 2 daycare bills, if you stay home you have 2 small infants home with you all day long. For us we wanted to spend time really enjoying just being Molly's parents for a while. Age is also a factor for me but I didn't want to rush the experience. KWIM? Personally I could not have handled 2 under 2 with my job. I knew that. Now I will have 2 under 3 and that will be a bit easier but still I am stressing out over it.
My brother and I are 18 months apart we are not especially close. I know lots of children born close in age that are VERY close and some that are not friends at all. It wasn't about age as it was about personalities. There is no way to know if siblings will be close when they are adults or not IMO.

My kids are pretty much exactly 2 years apart...Jack Ovt 19, Molly Oct 25. I already see how much fun they are having togehter. Molly just sits and coos and "talks" to Jack all the time and he is always huigging and kissing her and pats her when she cries and says "Its OK Lolly (working on our "m"). So I think close in age is good.

If it were up to my Dh, we'd be TTC for #2 already (DS is not even 4 months old )!

but like Christine said, I am 37 and we do want to try for at least one more child. Given the fact that conceiving Nikolas took us some time (due to fertility issues and miscarriage), I think we are going to begin TTC #2 later this summer as well .. (which makes me excited and terrified all at the same time )

I will say, though, that my children being "closer" as a result of being close in age has nothing to do with my decision at all. My brother and I are 5 yrs apart and we are extremely close. Honestly, if I wasn't already 37 yrs old, I think I would have opted to wait a little bit longer between children..my age is the main factor in why we're going to be trying for another baby soon!

My DD will be 6 months old tomorrow and yesterday I got a positive pregnancy test. We didn't plan this but we are excited!

I have a sister 2 years older, a brother 2 years younger....but I am closest with my sister who is 4 years older and my sister who is 12 years younger.

I think it will really depend on personality.

I would like to have kids potentially closer in age theoretically. But physically and financially it will be a 4 year gap...

I can't wait to have another - DD is only 3 1/2 months.

My OB said that we should wait a year though so that all of your vitamin levels can re-establish themselves. I guess that you lose a lot to the baby.

We will probably try TTC #2 at the end of this year.

My son is 2 weeks old. We don't plan on having another right away, but will probably try next year. It would be great to have another right after Bryan turns 2 or around there.

My children will be 20 months apart.

I think I would have waited a tad longer, but I want 3 children and DH is adamant that we "bang 'em out" quickly. The reason is, he is a very nervous husband of a pregnant lady--worried about what can go wrong, etc. and age is becoming a factor...I'm 33.

When people comment on how close in age our 2 will be he replies, "Just wait until you see how close the 2nd and 3rd will be!"

My sister and I are 20 months apart and my mom said it was great (but my mom never remembers anything bad that ever happened when we were kids). We were playmates for one another at a very young age.

I do agree, however, that having children close in age does not necessarily mean that they'll be life-long best friends.

Well, I've said enough, but the bottom line is that both have their ups and downs and it's challenging no matter what.

I'm currently in denial though...

my girlfriend just had a baby 9 weeks ago..... WELL SHE'S PREGNANT AGAIN... she has health issues that forced her to have another baby soon...... but they didnt want it that soon!!

but she got the okay from her doctor!!!
she had a c-section too

Dh wants one right away. Sure, he's not the one that has to carry it for nine months! I don't want to wait too long, but maybe just a little bit longer!
