Anyone signing up for Music Together classes for the Fall? Or have done it before?
I was thinking of the Tot Music in Smithtown with Monica Meyers. BTW: I'm due with baby #2 on 9/2 and classes start 9/21. Am I pushing it? DD is 20 months and I was going to bring both babies with me. Is this a good idea? I just wanted to do an activity with my toddler while on maternity leave.

When I did the class with DD, there was a lot of movement. Carrying her around and dancing and such. We also sat on the floor in a circle for the majority of the class. If you have a c-section it may be a bit rough but I sure you can explain and do a modified version for a week or two. I say go for it if you are comfortable bringing the new baby out so early.

I signed both girls up for the fall. I think DD#2 will probably end up in the stroller but we shall see when we start (she was free anyway so it doesn't cost anything to bring her). Last spring when I was pregnant I took the class and there were people who brought their babies to class as well as their older children.
I had a section so I didn't finish the class my mom, DH and dad all brought DD to class depending on who was helping me that week.
One hint though if you chose to bring your newborn bring them in the car seat in the stroller. We had one parent who would bring her DC in the infant seat than put them directly on the floor in the circle with the kids rather than off to the side. It was honestly too tempting for the kids and she didn't want anyone touching the baby which is understandable. The teacher finally had to ask her to put the seat on one of the benches out of toddler hands.

we just finished the summer music together class in great neck. i think it's a great idea to sign up for it but just one thing...will you feel comfortable bringing your newborn into a room with a bunch of younger children who may be carrying germs?
