Anyone know where I could donate books?
I'm not sure libraries will take them...I know I tried years ago and one librbay told me that they only take them when they have their used book sales. i want to get rid of them now and I hate to throw books away!

Goodwill... some schools, and charities.. Hospitals? Call around when you get some free time you would be amazed with what you find.. When my grandmother relocated we donated all of her books to the hospital and senior centers... HTH

Definately try schools, if they are child-appropriate. I know a lot of teachers who would love a larger variety of books for their kids

i second hospitals - before we moved last year i got rid of a lot of my fiction books there. give em a call -it can't hurt!

You might want to check a different library. I went to a library and told me they didn't want it. I went to another one and they were soo happy and took all of them. I think it depends from library to library. Also, hospitals are a good choice.

Depending on the condition of the books, you could try the library, the hospital, or a nursing home.

we use to give a lot of stuff to big brathers and sisters. they will even come to your house to pick it up, i don't remember if they take books but never hurts to ask.

i say hospitals also, when i was in the hospital they always came around with a big cart of books, also there is a place in Rockville Centre, i'm not sure where you are, called Barely Bent Books, i think its on N. VIllage Ave
