Anyone know of any non toxic way to unclog a drain?

So the water in my tub/shower combo has been draining VERY slowly lately and I am assuming there is a hair clog (because Lord knows I lose lots of hair when I shower).

Normally I'd throw some Draino or Liquid Plumber down there but my cats love to jump in the tub and lick the faucet and drain and I really don't want to put anything toxic in there because of that.

Does anyone have a natural, non toxic way to unclog a drain?

I read something once about vinegar and/or baking soda Chat Icon I'm just not sure what to do with it.

Any ideas?

Step 1 - Put the DRY baking soda down the drain. I use about 3/4 of a cup.
Step 2 - Pour 1/2 cup of vinegar down the drain after the baking soda. Be sure to cover the drain immediately afterwards with a rag or plug, filling the hole completely so nothing can escape. This is because the interaction of the two will cause a “mini volcano” that will want to come up and out of the drain..you want to keep it down there.
Step 3 - Leave this concoction in the drain for about 30 minutes. While you are waiting, boil a tea kettle full of water.
Step 4 - After 30 minutes, remove the plug and slowly pour the HOT water down the drain.

Queen of Clean uses this method too..

I do vinegar and baking soda. Pour baking soda down the drain (I usually use a funnel) and then add vinegar. Poof! It's like you're back in lab.
