anyone know about subchorionic Hematoma?!

my dr called me with my 6 week sonogram results and said he didnt get the heartbeat (it could just be too early) and there was blood around the baby's sac...when i asked if it was cause for alarm and what this means, all he said was" 40% of women get this and it goes away" thats ALL he said to me about it..never said what causes it or what could happen if it doesnt go away

he told me to come in 2 weeks for another sono and he said "we have to play the waiting game to see" i guess he really cant tell me much over the phone and he needs to test more?!

i did some reserch online and i found something called subchorinic hematoma and it sounds like what the dr was describing as far as blood around the sac...im wondering if anyone knows more info about this and if anyone else was told the same?! im freaking out and am not happy about waiting 2 weeks until we go back for a sonogram. No, I'm sorry I can't tell you anything about this.

I would call your doctor again though and ask for more information about what this could mean. If he hesitates, tell him you are freaking out and you just want to know what you may be dealing with.

I'm sorry about this--I hope he is right and it's nothing to be concerned about.

I actually had a subchorionic Hematoma.. I was put to bed rest for about 4 weeks. They found it when i was about 6-8 weeks pregnant... When I went back for a sono after 8 weeks it went away and I have had a great pregnancy otherwise

thanks for the info...i guess thats why my dr is making me wait a little later in the pregnancy to see if it hopefully goes away by the time im 9 weeks at the next sonogram. I havent been feeling to well so i havent been as active as i usually am and im trying to take it easy. Hopefully i will have a successful pregnancy like you are. did your dr explain to you what its from or what could happen if it doesnt go away? thats my main concern.
