Anyone know about getting an iPod hookup installed in a car?
That is what DH wants for Christmas but I don't want to go shopping around for prices without a clue...I know they'll catch on to me fast!
Has anyone had this done? Where? Could you tell me how much you paid?

If you want a direct hookup and not a transmitter (which IMO s*ck), you have to buy a new radio with an auxiliary jack.
They usually run about $150.00
BTW, DH got me one for my birthday and I love, love, love it!!!!!

Oh thanks for the link...I should have been more specific though...he doesn't want the FM transmitter anymore, he wants the hookup installed in the dash.

You control the iPod with the iPod still...only the volume is controlled with the radio.

I would just get a transmitter...
I paid 10 bucks from now..i have a preset set for the default transmitter channel...
works like a charm
