Anyone have private health insurance (self-employed, etc.)?
If so, can you tell me the approximate range of how much a family plan costs? TIA

FH has his own business and pays for all his employees health benefits as well as his and mine,
THere are MANY differnet options, with co-pays, ER deductibles ETC to make the monthly payments be lower
I know FH has a very good plan with GHI and for a single its 460 a month
Some employees have a differnet plan and for them a single runs around 280 a month

I am self-employed. I get a rate through a group. Single $280/month. The paperwork for my group says Family (Plus Spouse and Children): $780/month.

DH is self employeed and we have Empire BCBS and for a family plan in Suffolk it is $999.37 with no hospital co-pay, prescriptions $7,$10, $50 and a $25 co pay.

We also have that, but its almost 800 a month for just me and him. RX are 15, 25 and 50, and my copays are 20....But, they are very good, they covered my surgery ($40,000) and are always helpful on the phone!

Ours runs about $1000/month for a family plan- including dental/vision, no referrals, $10 co-pays.
