Anyone have labor nightmares? I'm terrified of pain and needles.
I started having nightmares about delivery. Last night I dreamed that the doctor kept missing when putting in my ivy (I don't even think women in labor get an ivy). Then I kicked the guy who was trying to give me an epidural when I saw the HUGE needle.
How am I going to go through labor and delivery? I am such a huge wimp.

it's not easy... but you work through it and have a pretty nice reward at the end!

You won't see the needle. Also- by the time I got my epi- I was ready to kiss the doctor adminitstering it.
Truthfully- the unknown is always scary. But when you're in the thick of it, you just get through it. The anticipation is so much worse.

TOTALLY agree. you're looking away from the needle as it is going in... so if you're not looking directly at the anesthesiologist preparing it, you don't ever have to see the needle.
i also contemplated kissing my anesthesiologist 
also agree that, as bad as labor is, the anticipation is really much worse. while it's happening you just deal with it.

I think you just need to come to the conclusion its going to hurt. BUT, look at it this way, It really cant hurt that bad otherwise woman would not be doing it for thousands of years.
I am horrified of needles, but you will love that Dr when he comes around to give it to you. There is no reason to get yourself all in a dither when you have so many other things to worry about. Its going to happen. You cant stop that.  Stressing it is not the best thing either.
