Anyone have IBS or Colitis? I had SUCH a bad attack...

OMG... I was at a friend's house in Jersey over the weekend and we all had Mexican. I'm 7 weeks pregnant, and had a week of bad nausea, but was feeling good after my doc prescribed Zofran. It was GOOD Mexican food... not cheap. I didn't have anything spicy or cheesy. Yet SOMETHING activated what I think is either IBS or colitis... I got SOOO sick. I threw up 5 consecutive times and just had terrbile cramping. I was so nervous... I called my doc who told me to go to the E.R. to get fluids, but was okay with me drinking gatorade to rehydrate instead. SOOOOO scary. I was okay after the gatorade, thank God, but am so scared of something like that happening again.

Does anyone else here have IBS or colitis? I've had attacks like this before, but have never been officially diagnoses. I get violently ill about 3-4 times per year on all different kinds of foods - even if that same food never affected me poorly before or doesn't affect anyone else.

What do you do for your IBS/Colitis?

My IBS was actually not too bad when I was pregnant. But I had to stay away from certain foods. Or I would get really sick too. It is all the hormones. What doesn't really bother you when you aren't pregnant can bother you so much worse when you are preggo. I would steer clear of Mexican food from now on....Maybe try them later on in your pregnancy...It is rough....Anything fried set me off when I wasn't preggo but not so bad as when I was preggo....Thank god for Zofran... Hope you feel better soon....

I have IBS and it has been really bad while I've been pregnant.
After my last attack, I've been trying to avoid really fattening, greasy food.

I have Crohn's disease and it has been terrible this pregnancy. I have some good days and some bad, but I mean really bad! I was in complete remission with DS #1. Was hoping for the same outcome but so far not good. So hard dealing with an illness on top of being preggo! Best of luck!
