Anyone have cheap transportation recommendations to get out east?

Going to Martha Clara festival this weekend and DH was calling taxi & limo companies and getting RIDICULOUS prices, like almost $200 each way. We are looking for drop off and pick up only. Anyone have cheaper options? Thx!!!!

I would look at the Hampton Jitney site & see if they're running to Riverhead.

They have 2 stops before you go out east. One is in Islip & one is in Queen.

Train to Riverhead then get a cab

You might be better off renting a car.

or take the train to riverhead and take the local bus. That will be cheap but HOURS to go to your destination.

My friend and I went out to the wineries last week. We took the train to Greenport. There is only one train there and one back but the hours were pretty good. We got out there around 12 and the train leaves around 6:30. Most wineries close around 6. If those times work for you, I would do that. It was $27 round trip for the train from Farmingdale.

I found a local cab service - Cindy's Cab - on line. 631-876-5121. She was WONDERFUL to work with. She called me days before to confirm and work out where we were going. She was very punctual and we just called her when we were done and ready to go to the next place. Each cab transfer is $15 for 2 people.
