Anyone have a Mazda CX-9- car seat question?

I am thinking of buying a 2012 Mazda CX-9.
Does anyone know if it will accommodate an infant car seat carrier in the middle seat of the second row? The middle seat does not look as deep as the seat behind the passenger or driver. Salesperson said it would, but I am still not sure. The car seat I registered for is the Chicco Key Fit.
TIA!

I have the CX9 but don't use an infant base any more. I don't see why it wouldn't fit thought - its a 60/40 split, so it should be as deep as the sides. Did you look at it with the middle row pushed all the way back? There is definitely more room in the second row than in the back seat of my Lexus RX.

You also might want to check where the manufacturer recommends you install the infant seat - I think it might vary.

Love the car!

I have the CX-9 and love it!
When I went to the Nassau County Traffic Safety Board in Hicksville to have my infant seat installed Chris (I’m pretty sure that’s his name) told me that I couldn’t use the middle seat because it’s not really shaped like a real seat, it’s smaller. So he installed it behind the passenger seat. And now I have moved up to the convertible seat which he installed in the same place.

He also told me that he doesn’t recommend installing any car seats in the 3rd row because it would be difficult to have access to them quickly in case of an emergency.

Just something to think about if you plan on having more than 1 child. Both car seats would have to be in the second row (1 behind the driver and 1 behind the passenger seat) making the 3rd row very difficult to access.
