Anyone have a Jeep Grand Cherokee
I looked at a 2004 Limited today with 76k miles on it and a v8 engine. It was a really nice car.
Does anyone here have that body style jeep from 2000 to 2004?
Pros and Cons of this jeep?
Its a V8 and I was wondering how the gas mileage is.
I would be trading in my 2001 Ford Escape and I am wondering how much room I would gain from the jeep.

my husband and i have been driving jeeps for the past 15 years...my hubby only cherokees. his last 2007 was a v8...horrible on gas...we sold his 2001 to a work colleague and still runs great...great cars overall, we now own a 2010 and a 2011 grand cherokee...both v6...

I would imagine that the v8 is awful on gas...I have a 05 v6 that is ~13/22
BUT I think that Jeeps are well made. DH and I both have had Wranglers and loved them and we have had really no problems with this 05 with exception to maintenance (brakes, tires, oil, etc)

We have 2 Jeep Grand Cherokees- a 2006 and a 2007 (both are Laredos). I LOVE my jeep- I don't think I want to drive anything else. As far as gas...not so great. But I wouldn't give up my jeep for anything- even the high gas prices!

I had a 98 v8 5.2 litre (this was when gas was 1.10 a gallon, lol) and I got around 13-14 miles to a gallon. HORRIBLE.

We have the same car, year too I think. Gas mileage is bad, and I think mine is a V6. Also, the sensors keep going bad. I have to replace the same parts over and over again.
I'm not a fan. Sorry.

I have this model I love everything but the gas. I do a lot of local driving get about 10 to 12 miles per gallon. But can't afford another car

I have a 2011, but had an 04 in 2004-2007. It was not V8 though. Right now it literally costs me $100 to fill up my tank each time. I would probably steer away from a V8, unless you have a reason for needing it.
Besides that I love Jeeps, am on my 4th!

This! We had a Yukon Denali and when the lease was up got a 2011 Jeep v8 (Yukons were crazy$$$$). The Jeep is HORRIBLE on gas. We got so much more mileage out of the Denali!!

We had a 2006 v6 and just traded it in for a 2008 v8. I have to say the car ran great, but at 100,000 miles it was starting to have problems- at it is a gas guzzler.

I had an 03 and an 07 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Both were V8 and all time all wheel drive. Loved them both and they both got 14/22 mpg. Yes its a guzzler, but I don't feel any worse than most of the SUV's out there. My mom has an 03 still V6 and her gas milage was never much different then mine because we used to compare. We always got the V8's because we liked the more power, it is a heavy car and we felt the V8 was better suited for it.
I now drive a Tahoe and get the same gas milage as my 07 Jeep. The Tahoe is a V8, and heavier than the Jeep, but is rear wheel drive. The Tahoe also takes the flex fuel though which saves us quite a bit of $. It never cost me $100 to fill of the Jeep, but my Tahoe has come close because of the larger tank.
The Jeep is a great truck. It is fantastic in the snow and on the beach- no other can compare.

we have a 2002 and despite not getting honda like mileage, we love it. we have 3 in the family. The 02 has a great engine apparently. we have a v6.
