Anyone have a basic home phone plan?
Like no long distance packages, just the bare bones pay per call ...
(preferably where I can keep my existing #?)

we have vonage...you need high speed cable to have it, but it is $20/month for 500 minutes (we have never gone over for the 5 years we have had it, but we don't talk on the phone much - or use our cells)

I just have the most basic plan from Verizon. It's like 25 bucks a month. I didn't want to switch to Vonage or some other VOIP service due to the fact that our alarm system is on it - didn't want power outages, internet outages to be a factor.

I have Tmobil at home. Its $10 a month. You have to have Tmobile cell phones though

I have a basic Verizon service plan that costs about $17 a month after $8 in gov taxes and fees.
I only have it for the home alarm and incase of bad weather.
I live on the water, when a good storm hits and we are without power the VOIP services don't work.
