Anyone Going to Brookhaven Hospital?
I was just wondering how they are there. I been wondering if they allow kids to come up and see the baby when it is born. I want to make sure my sisters kids can come up to visit me.

I was told by my doctors that Brookhaven no longer delivers babies. I was really disappointed because it's so close to my house.

That's strange...I went to a seminar at Babies R Us and there was a lactose consultant from Brookhaven Hospital...if they don't deliver babies, why would they have lactose consultants.
I could be wrong altogether since I am not delivering there and don't know much about the hospital.

They do have a labor and delivery department...I believe that many doctors that take private insurance do not deliver at Brookhaven anymore...

That was my understanding, too. But I think they are trying to get more doctors to deliver there now.

I interned 2 yrs ago at Brookhaven hospital on the psych ward as a social worker and they made us do various mock codes in the event a baby was stolen from the maternity ward. They wouldnt tell anyone if it was real or not they would make us follow the emergency codes. I definitely think they have a maternity ward up there for that reason but I was never up there.

My doctors told me that is the only hospital i can go to. I was trying to go to stony brook but it did not work. I am going to ask them when i go back on the 7th for my appointment. I hope they tell me something good.
