Anyone ever have a"Blighted Ovum "? ever find out the cause ?
Did your dr explain to you what happened ?

Our first PG resulted in a blighted ovum, also called a missed pregnancy. The sac implants but a fetus never develops.....you have a sac but no baby.
The day we found out I started to miscarry naturally. We did not ask for testing as to why it happens since we were young and healthy....it was just one of those things.

I had the testing done just to know. I am not that young so I wanted to make sure it was just one of those things. Mine was a Trisomy 13- a chromosomal problem.
ETA: I had a D&C so they had the tissue to test.

i had 2 blighted ovums this year and we were never able to find out the cause. my dh and i both had chromosomal testing done which came back negative. Dr. feels my egg quality may have been poor due to late ovulation and I am now on clomid to hopefully ovulate earler...

My Dr. said it's just due to chromosonal defects, when the fetus started to develop. I guess it's better off that way in the long run! We're still trying, mine happend the end of May.
