Anyone ever deliver at Good Sam in W. Islip??
I was just wondering what the hospital is like? Are there private rooms and are they strict w/ their visiting hours?

I am delivering there and most of my friends/family have also delivered there. There are only 2 private rooms and they keep them available for women with infections or anything of this nature (unless of course, they are short on room availability).
They have visiting hours and a quiet hour - but it is hardly enforced.....

I just delivered there last week... They were lenient on visiting hours, but made sure that everybody except husbands left at 8pm... And 1 - 2 pm are there quiet hours - good luck!

I just delivered there a month ago. I had a private room. I started out with a roommate but then a private room opened and I asked to be moved. Their visiting hours are 10-12, 2-5, 6-8. However, they said they are not strict and it is up to the patient if they want visitors during the day. they do not turn anyone away. I had visitors all day long except ll the staff there were amazing!!

I am due in 10 more days. My DH also has a huge (Italian) family and I am an Alumni sister of a sorority.....look out Good Sam - here they all come....lol

I delivered both my DC at Good Sam and I had a private room both times. No one ever bothered my visitors during the daytime but when 8PM came they did ask that everyone (except the DH's) please leave.
I also thought the staff was amazing there!

I am delivering there and wonder if anyone knows how much a private room there costs? With twins I know there'll be plenty of visitors and would love the privacy.
