anyone else's parents getting weird???
They just do weird things now. Their newest thing is betting on horses. I was home last week and they made me go to the OTB  I felt so dirty.

Well they're retired now, so they enjoy relaxing at home. Summer at my parents house has turned into Margaritaville. The pools open, the grill's on and the margarita's are flowing....every weekend (and mid-week too since they have nothing else do to)!
But hey, they've earned it!

My mom, who we sometimes refer to as Sister Margaret Mary, said that she wants my dad to grow a ponytail because she thinks it would look sexy  (my dad is in his 70's! And practially bald on top!)

DH's dad joined a motorcycle gang (OK, club, but they think they're a gang) and now wears leather chaps, the whole 9 yards. We call them The Gray Gliders. They just got back from a cruise, like 50 of them. I think that's pretty weird.

No they are getting old. Its kind of sad to see.
It is sad. My dad is 70 but has always acted younger for his age but I know he is not going to be around forever. I do notice sometimes a lapse of the concept of time. For example, we were recently talking about a show that was filmed in my neighborhood once. My dad said to me, "Oh yeah they filmed that here a FEW years back." In reality the show was actually filmed about 25 years back. Kind of a big difference to me. I find the concept of time seems to go with age.

Yeah, my mom decided to get her motorcycle license for her 50th bday this year. I'm like, "Mom, why don't you take up knitting & make a blanket for your first grandson?"

OMG yes.. My father is getting sooo weird.. he dies his blond mustache (mind you he is a full head of BLOND hair) dark drown .. and he is always trying to lose weight (yes that is very weird for my father).. and where ever he goes now he wears a dress jacket.. even when we had a family BBQ at my house there was my father in a dress jacket and everyone else in casual cloths. He is just getting so weird.. and me and my mother can't stand it.

OMG yes! Definitely! My mom bought new sporty chrome brushed rims for her Honda!! she is 59!!
and my dad wants to buy a convertible mustang (mind you, he can barely fit in it and he has MS so he can't even drive it either!)
Also, the last couple of years they just say whatever is on their mind...good or bad, they don't care!!! They've become so nervy!

my parents arent betting on horses or anything but now that they're older and dont have to worry about me and my sisters, i've found that they are watching alot of infomercials and ordering useless crap on TV. my mom tells me that they wake up at like 4am and just start watching infomercials! my dad bought a "how to do magic" kit, a huge exercise contraption he doesnt need nor does he use, and every kitchen gadget under the sun!
