Any Ideas on this???? Older Child Related...
....my daughter Alexis is...hmmmmm...how do I put this...she's..A bit of a story teller....She doesnt lie really just more embellishes things that really did happen. Ive been calling her on it and explaining to her that she shouldnt do that and why etc etc etc....
Does anyone have any ideas on how to nip this in the bud??? She's 9 and I can just imagine how this is going to be when she's say 12!!!!! I want to make an impression now....Does anyone know of any books????? Or movies????? That would highlight this type of thing and what could happen if things got out of hand????

I want to say I wish you luck.. My brother in law who will be 25 is a compulsive liar and his mother said it started in his preteen's and she thought he would outgrow it..

Thanks for the well wishes...Im hoping we never get to the compulsive liar part. She doesnt lie so much as she "tells stories"..there is usually a certain amount of truth to what she is saying.
What can I say she is a complete Drama Queen...she likes to stir the pot.

I thought the same thing. It may be a good lesson to her that when she embellishes the truth, when she really is telling the truth, no one will believe her.
