the ACU unit scores highest scores with JCAHO, who is doing rhe surgery? I know most fo the docs att hhat hospital. The also have a low rate of MRSA, skin breakdown, med mistakes, etc. They have good pain management modules and a good number of their nursing staffs are professors or adjuncts at Stony Brook, Farmingdale, and Molloy. He;ll be fine. Huntington is part of North Shore now, great credentialing and privileging techniques

I think it's improved tremendously since North Shore took over. I'm not fond of their emergency medicine - but it's because they asked ME to hold down my 2 week old for a spinal tap.

I was a Nursing Student a couple years back at SUNY Farmingdale. I did most of my student rotations at Huntington Hospital and worked on their Peds unit as a student. I was floated to the med surgery unit, ICU, CACU, NICU, etc. This by far was one of my most favorite hospitals to do my rotations at. It was so clean, the staff was unbelievable, I heard nothing but good things, their nurses were right on top of things, etc. This was going back a couple of years and I ended up becoming a Pre School teacher....but considering that I will go back for nursing, this would be one of the hospitals I would condsider working for. I don't think he has anything to worry about. I was born there and many family members have had procedures done there as well.
I honestly have not heard anything bad about them

Its in the NSLIJ netowrk so right off the back, I give it credit. (We personally only deal with NSLIJ affilated DR's)
Besides that, my sister gave birth there after researching various hostptials to deliever. She had a great stay with no problems.

My SIL just gave birth there a week ago... she said she had a wonderful experience.. the nurses were wonderful!!! She really had a tough labor and they were great!!!
I hope everythign goes well for your hubby!!

DH had surgery there and it was fine. I don't like the doctor, but that's a whole 'nother story. Good luck to your husband!
