Anthonly Weiner & his wife Huma Abedin
Disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner seems to be back in his wife's good graces as the couple strolled around New York City at the weekend while she showed off her growing baby bump.
The former U.S. Representative, 46, and his very pregnant wife Huma Abedin, 35, were photographed affectionately clinging to one another during an outing in Manhattan's SoHo district on Sunday.
Mrs Abedin, a personal aide and deputy chief of staff to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, revealed she was pregnant in the middle of her husband's humiliating Twitter sexting scandal in June
Walking with their arms placed one each other's shoulders, Mr Weiner was photographed thoughtfully holding his wife's handbag as they walked past pedestrians, who seemed to pay them no mind.
The pair hid behind sunglasses for most of their walk as a lurking paparazzo caught them on their stroll.
It was reported earlier this month the couple is expecting a baby boy, due on New Year’s Eve.
Mr Weiner, who was planning to run for mayor in New York next year, quit his position as a New York Democrat Congressman in June after a sensational sexting scandal forced him out.
The scandal saw him send lewd messages of himself to at least six women he met on Twitter, and he is now fighting to save his marriage.
He denied his identity at first but later confessed and apologised for his questionable actions.
'This was a very dumb thing to do,' he stated. '(It was) a destructive thing to do. The picture was of me and I sent it. I haven't told the truth. I have done things I deeply regret. I apologize to my wife and our families. I'm deeply ashamed.'
Sources close to the couple have reportedly claimed that Mrs Abedin’s devout Muslim family was furious with Mr Weiner over the incidents.
His wife took a couple of weeks off work and Mr Weiner headed to an 'intense' rehab programme to help him treat his sexting addiction.
Since the scandal emerged, the couple have kept an extremely low profile and avoided public engagements, making their public sightings rare events.
They were previously photographed together during a European vacation to Paris and Italy in late Agust - the second vacation they had taken since the scandal. In July, they celebrated their first wedding anniversary in Miami, Florida.
Paid $174,000-a-year, Weiner represented parts of New York City in the House of Representatives since being first elected in 1998.

Thoughtfully holding??? I am sorry, but in my book this gesture is almost as douche-baggy as showing your wiener on the internet!! WHO does this?? It's a lady's purse, not a heavy suitcase!!! WHY would a man do this? And WHY would his wife let him?

I agree with EVERYONE! Beautiful dress-what's up with his face in their wedding pic? i hope that is just a bad quality picture they used. And yea-why is he holding her bag? I can't even get DH to hold my purse while i tie my shoe lace LOL!
