Another kitchen cabinets ?

I have the ugliest dark wood cabinets possible. I don't think we'll ever to be able to afford remodeling the kitchen completely, but I really want to do something with them if possible. I want a lighter color wood. I don't think painting them would work. I don't know if the wood is naturally that dark or if they were stained? I would love to make them lighter.

When you get them refaced, can they reface more than just the doors? I wanted to get the walls and shelves done also. These are really old cabinets. How do they update the frame?

I just had mine professionally refaced recently and they updated some of my drawers and a shelf and all the trim so it matches around the doors as well as the moldings....I added some pics in another post. They didnt really update the frame - the basic frame is still there. They were in good condition, just reallly ugly.

It all depends how much you want to spend....Good Luck!!
