Another horror story about Destination Maternity in Carle Place
So my mom wanted to buy me some nicer maternity clothes for xmas. She went in today cause she always tells me how nice it looks from the outside lol
She calls me up like a crazy person. I was like what the heck happened to you? She's like never again! I walked in and started looking around. She said "I was there for 30 secs and I already had 2 different girls ask me for help. I told them I was looking " So i said yea I heard they hound you as soon as you walk in. Then she proceeded to tell me that one of the girls that asked her for help said "So how far along are you?" I was like OMGGGG lolol my moms like umm it's not for me and walked out

although, she should think of is this way ... at least they thought she was young enough to be having kids    they would take 1 look at my mom (61) and know immediately that it wasnt for her

Your poor mom. I have to warn my mom now b/c she wants to get me a coat for Christmas. She defin looks young enough to still be having kids. I would die if they asked her that.

i have gift cards, im going, just to annoy them. hmmm, should I fake contractoins in the dressing room while half naked or perhaps my water might break while standing online?!

This is so weird, I went there and they were so helpful! I know everyone complains about them, but they really did help me out a lot. I went with Dh and out two best friends who are a couple. We had so much fun. They did help me find things and took all my stuff to the fitting room for me and got me different sizes to try. I actually hada good experience!

ETA-I think it is a Motherhood/Pea in the Pod/Destination Maternity thing.
At Thanksgiving I was discussing how annoying they are to some friends who just had a baby and live in Orlando. Apparently when they said no about the future trust card for the umpteenth time, the manager said, "Well you just don't care about your child." He made her cry after that statement.
I go in there and when they harrass me, I start touching things, moving things, etc. I don't put up with it. They haven't asked me about the future trust card again, and I kind of wish they would because I have some really good comebacks-I was planning on telling them that college was covered AND my child is going to be in the Guinness Book of World Records for first fetus to get a full ride to MIT!

The Destination Maternity in the city by my office is the same way.
I don't think of it as a bad thing - which is not to say it's not really fricken annoying when you just want to do your own thing - but I think it's their policy to help. Or over-help.
I've always been pounced on the minute I walk in and then after I deflect the first, the second one comes by before I can decide if I want to look at shirts or pants.

Oh no!! I went to Maternity Works at The Source today and was not stalked AT ALL..... It was awesome!!! I even commented on it when I was checking out and the girl smirked. I'm guessing they must be on commission.
