Am I crazy? Is this a lot to pay for balloons?
I'm having a party and ordered 18 latex, 2 mylar and 6 bases. They quoted me $67 plus $10 delivery. I can live with the delivery fee, but $67 for 20 balloons? Does that sound reasonable?

OUCH! That seems very expensive to me. I would just send someone to the party store on the morning of the party and pick them up there. You can order them ahead of time and have your husband or best friend pick them up for you.

You know for DD's party I bought the small helium tank- it came w. balloons & string- and it was like $25!

There is a helium deficit in the US and that is why balloons cost so much lately. Party City won't even blow them up for you anymore

I think that is alot, probably because of the helium shortage. We paid that much, though, 2 weeks ago for the same amount of ballons at Party City. We were desperate and had no choice. We couldn't call in our order... they said that because of the shortage there was a maximum of 20(I think) balloons and no preorders.

I just spent last month $8 for 2 mylar and 2 helium balloons. The price of helium has gone up and they have a sign in the store explaining the price increase.

I just called Party City
12 latex balloons for $7.99, or $0.79.
$1.99 for Mylar balloons.
So without the bases or tax it will be~$18. What a difference. I'll just go pick them up in the morning - or better yet, let DH pick them up!!!
What did you do for bases?

I think some 99 cent stores have bases in metallic solid colors. Perhaps you could use those.

I was just going to say that... Dollar tree has different color bases for obviously a buck a piece.
