A Young Guy Offered Me a Seat!
This seems to happen so rarely, I figured it was worth a mention.
The LIRR was packed last night, and I was standing. A young guy, I would say in his mid-20s, got up and offered me his seat! But, before I could take the seat, a young woman around the same age got on the train and took the seat! When he told her the seat was for me, she looked at me and said, "Well, I'm here now."
I was in no mood for an arguement--she wasn't giving up that seat without a fight, so I thanked him and stood, which I actually didn't mind doing last night. It was an express train, and I wasn't very tired.
But how rude was that of her?
Oh well, just wanted to report that there are some young men out there who give seats up for preggos. Too bad some young women don't get it.

ha! she'll get hers one day. and kudos to the guy for offering. last month at my monthly check up a man offered me his seat in the dr's offce. i was fine standing so i told him no thank you. but there are couterous people out there.

that is very nice of that guy, unfortunlatly i hope she does not get a seat when she is preg. I cannot believe some people! WOW and a woman to boot!
