A Little Annoyed With The Seller Of My House - UPDATED
Yesterday was my walk thru (thanks for the tips everyone!) and the bathroom mirror was gone. The seller had one custom made and it was agreed upon that he would take his custom mirror but replace it with another. So when I saw there was nothing, I asked DH to call the seller. Well...the seller got annoyed and yelled at my husband (seller has been so nice thus far) that he never said that. I couldn't remember if it was verbal or written so I let it go.
Today I speak to my lawyer and a replacement mirror is written into my signed contract. I don't mean to sound petty but I'm a little annoyed over this...its mostly the seller's attitude that bothered me.
I can't wait to be done with all of this.
ETA: He's giving me $50. I'm not trying to be a pig, but I'm just glad he gave something.
Still can't wait for tomorrow to be over....

That would annoy me too. they should at least give you $100 to go to home depot and get a new one. its not really the money - it's the principle.....

I would let them know it's in the contract and they need to replace it. I would try to chalk up the attitude to being under the stress of buying/selling/moving since they have been nice all along.

agreed and let your lawyer handle this - not you - that's why he's getting the $$$.
yes, tell your lawyer the situation and he/she will know how to handle it. I would ask for $ at the closing to replace the mirror.

I think its a good thing - at least you can pick out what you want. Seems like a minor problem to have to deal with in the grand scheme of things.

you're not being a pig! whats yours is yours and if its in the contract he has to oblige...there was no need for him to yell at your DH!!!

I agree, the seller is being very small-minded. I would take the money though--that way, you can get something you like. If he's angry, he'll probably pick up something junky.
I have no idea what these things cost though. I suppose you can get one for $50 or less, but they may go much higher too.
