A job was supposed to call me back today...
and let me know what their decision was. They haven't called yet. Should I call them?

I would call - you dont want to have to go thru the weekend not knowing! but it's getting late for a friday in the summer so i would do it soon!

I have found in my experience-- they VERY rarely call when they say they will. They probably have not made their decision yet- although expected that they would. Since it's 5 now-- unfortunately, you might have to just wait it out.
I would follow up on Monday by like 11 if you have not heard anything.

I agree 100%. I also don't like to leave messages on the first try. I'd rather just call back a few times until someone picks up. If after a few tries I am unsuccessful, then I leave a message.
