A/C causing a morning cough?

We run the a/c every night because Megans room is on the top floor and it gets HOT up there! Its not freezing in there but cool. I always dress her warm enough but every morning she wakes up with a horrible cough. At the er last week, they checked her lungs and said all was clear so its not that. She doesnt cough throughout the night at all, and once shes up, never coughs during the day. Only in the morning and its waking her up earlier than usual.

Do you think its too dry in the room? Too cold? Anyone else go through this? What should I do? A fan doesnt work well enough..its just too hot up there to sleep without an ac.

Does she have a humidifier in there? Is the A/C directly on her, like blowing on her? I cough when I get an A/C blown on me. Otherwise, it might just be dry and needs the humidifier.

It may just be too dry in there.... i would try the humidifier

DH gets this sometimes when it is too dry (heat or A/C) because we have forced hot air/central air. The humidifier seems to help a lot.
