9 mos old and sleep habits again a mess (when will this get better)
Ok, DS has ALWAYS stunk on the sleeping.
Finally at 7 mos he would go down at 730PM and wake at 4-5AM for a bottle and then cry at 6AM and be up (he FINALLY takes two naps a day-since 6 mos).
Now, for the last 5 days he is getting up at 1AM screaming again. I guess we'll try CIO yet again (I know, I know stick to your guns). Is this a phase? Growth spurt? Teething? He does have a little cold. 1AM is nuts, he hasn't gotten up at that time since he was like 3 weeks old.
Last night he got up at 1AM (gave bottle), 4AM, 5AM, then fell back to sleep and slept till 8AM (later than usual).
What is going on? Just when I thought we had a system its gone again.

I've found that DS likes to wake up at absurd hours, multiple times a night every 2-3 months just to keep me on my toes.
Sometimes it's teething, sometimes it's a cold, sometimes it's separation anxiety, bad dreams, whatever.
But guaranteed - there is always 1 week every couple of months where we have a couple of days of reinforcement CIO.

Has he just had any milestones? ie, crawling, walking etc?
I've read that milestones will interrupt their sleep paterns.
It will pass!!!

I hope so. He is now standing unassisted for a couple of seconds (about 1.5 minutes). He's been crawling & cruising for a while now. Maybe that...

I don't know if this article explains what your DS is going through, but I thought it was interesting and seemed to apply to my DS's sleeping issues a few months ago.

DS is also 9 months and for the last 3 weeks his sleeping has been bad. He's been waking 1 time at night but staying up anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. I guess we'll go back to using the ferber method. I contributed his waking to teething b/c he was cutting 3 teeth at one time. I'm just hoping it'll pass. Until then, I feel your pain.

i am going through this right now with ds who is a little over 8 months old.
i think it is teething. last night was one of the worst nights since he went through his gas pain stage at 6 weeks old.
he was up every hour screaming. he wouldnt let me put him down, it was awful.
