White furniture for a Boy
I'm totally changing my idea for our nursery. I really love antique white/french white nursery furniture for a boy or a girl. What are your thoughts. Keep in mind my MIL is buying our nursery...but she wants to do it as the "babies" room...meaning it's not going to be converted...it will be for each baby we have as their nursery.

Re: White furniture for a Boy
I was team and liked the distressed white look and figured I would use it for each baby. I had a boy but had bought neutral bedding but I've seen adorable navy blue sets that would look adorable with the white furniture.

Re: White furniture for a Boy
We knew we were having a boy and still stuck to white / antique white furniture... I love it. We plan on keeping it as the nursery furntiure as well... When he gets older he'll get a car bed and some deep dark wood dressers lol. Till then, the white looks great to us

Re: White furniture for a Boy
i like pure white for boys but imho i think the antiqued and off white pieces are a little more girly...it all depends on what you like and how you decorate it!

Re: White furniture for a Boy
We just started looking at furniture and DH and I both love white. Our other choice is a very light natural wood. But, the way I look at it, if I have a boy, he'll use the crib for the first year and a half or two, then we'll get him a racecar or whatever kind of bed. White will never go out of style. Besides, you can always use it for the next child too and keep it just your "nursery" room!!!

Re: White furniture for a Boy
we got a white crib and changing table for my DS's room (it looked better with the decor and paint), now that we are having a girl this time, she will use them (DS is in a toddler bed now thats wood) and since the cribs a convertible that eventually can be used on a full size bed, she will just keep it and I will get DS new furniture when hes older. I think white is fine either way

Re: White furniture for a Boy
I happen to really like white for either gender, my DH on the other hand feels like it femine. I'm hoping he changes his mind..

Re: White furniture for a Boy
I was just wondering the same thing about this. We are having a boy and already have white furniture we want to use and just have to buy the crib to match. I loved the idea but then thought maybe it is too girly if the crib coverts to a big boy bed. But I've made my mind up that I'm getting white. I love how it looks.

Re: White furniture for a Boy
I created a "babys' nursery" that was green with white furniture and loved it!
It was certainly "boyish" enough for and looked so clean and crisp. Now is in it and I put some pink to make it girlier. It has been a beautiful nursery for both.
I LOVE it for a boy!

Re: White furniture for a Boy
We did "antique white". The furniture isn't girly at all. I think the shape/design is really what makes furniture feminine.
We painted a light green- somewhere between a sage and mint.
So, I think it's great. PLUS they say white furniture will not show wear like dark- even though it seems the opposite.
