4 months old-talking

My 4 month old DC likes to yell alot. He yells at the TV mostly or when he is laying in his crib at his mobile. Hes not yelling like upset he sounds like hes trying to talk.

Is this normal at this age?

My other DC doesnt do this he just sits around and smiles all day long haha.

DS has been doing this too - in the past week, his cooing and normal sounds have gotten a lot louder. It's cute.

Re: 4 months old-talking

My DS does this all the time, he's 14 weeks. He doesn't really cry anymore either, it's like a trying to tell me what's wrong and gets frustrated. It's kinda cute even though I feel bad for him Chat Icon

Yes..He is communicating with you. repeat the sounds to him and/or talk back to him to encourage him to continue it.

Re: 4 months old-talking

DH & I are hysterical listening to him. He was doing it this morning to the dragon on his exasaucer, he was trying to eat him and yelling at him at the same time Chat Icon Chat Icon

Each week it has been a new sound. He was growling for a few days, screeching the next...etc..etc.. Once they realize they can make sound they are like "ohhhhhh!!!!!! look what I can do!"

Yup, DS does that. It sounds like he's been trying to say "hi" for quite some time. He got it right the other day at 6 1/2 months.

ETA: He does "yell" at his toys tooChat Icon

Re: 4 months old-talking

Oh yeah!

DD has been yelling, babbling for a couple of weeks now.

And as of a few days ago, she has discovered blowing raspberries! I LOVE it! She ends up soaking wet, but it is just sooooo cute!!!
