3 plus hour drive w 10 week old ???

Hi ladies,

Ok I am planning to visit my in laws who live about 3.5 hours away, pretty easy drive.
DH has to work and will come down late Friday night but I figured I would go Thursday during the day.

I know I can do the drive just need some reassurance or any tips that any mommys can give me, those who have done this type of drive with a baby.

I figure if he wakes up I can stop at. Rest stop and change him and feed him in the car, I am not crazy about taking him in the rest stop this young.

Thanks ladies!

We drove to Boston (4+ hrs) with a 6 week old and he was just fine.
He slept most of the way, and when he woke up and cried, we would stop and change him or if it was time to feed him, we'd do that.
Most of the time, we'd coordinate a stop with when he needed to be fed, and we'd find a store parking lot (we ended up in Target, they had a great family bathroom where we could change him). We would usually feed him in the car while parked at one end of a parking lot and he was fine.
The only time we had trouble was when he was crying and we couldn't find a place to pull over! but we eventually did and ended up changing him in the front seat of the car!

you'll be fine Chat Icon just be prepared as best you can (fully stocked diaper bag, food etc)

We did it when DD#1 was 4 weeks old. My SIL graduated from college, so we went and stayed in PA for 2 nights at a hotel. We stopped when she needed to eat and be changed. It was actually much easier than traveling with them then rhan it is now that they are older. Have fun!

I drive 4h once a month to see my parents. Been doing it since my kids were a few weeks.
I always topped them off with formula/BM right before I left..they would sleep the whole way so it wasn't an issue.
If I got stuck in traffic and they needed to eat I would just stop somewhere and feed them in the car and off I went.

if your baby is OK in the car it should be fine. we drove to baltimore at a few weeks shy of 3m and she slept almost the entire way.
