Joey's Updates
OK here is what happened today. Joey is now being bottle fed 2x then he gets his tube feeding, but I think the nurses are pushing him a bit. He drank 2 out of 3 bottles today and bradied on his last and did not finish his 60 ml he did 1/2 and the rest was tubed. He did loose some weight and I am concerned if they push him too far he will get too tired I am talking to the doc tomorrow. I also posted new pics of him!!

my son lost a tiny bit of weight when they started bottle feeding him bc of the energy that it takes up. But he quickly gained it (and then some) He looks great!

Glad to hear that Joey is doing better!!  Hope he keeps it up!!
I'm sorry about the Ronald McDonald house tho, are there any relatives or friends that you can stay with? Maybe you could find an inexpensive hotel for the week?

oh thats not good... can the hospital let you stay if they dont have anyone else to fill the spot? any friends/relatives who are a halfway point between home and the hospital?

I remember those swaddlers with the hearts when we used it for my son. Joey is just beautiful and in my prayers. I hope he continues to fight, fight, fight!!! Have you asked the NICU social worker if she can help you stay a little longer at Ronald McDonald house? I know the NICU nurse where we were helped a couple of parents from out of state get very cheap hotel rooms for a couple of nights too. She may be a huge resource for you.

I just got back from the hospital. They put Joey on high pressured O2, and raised the amout to 2leters from1.5. They are also thinking about cutting his bottle feeds to once a day. We have scheduled classes for preemie CPR and one on how to read the monitors. We were told when he comes home he will need O2 and heart monitors.

Ups and downs Elisa!!! I know how hard it is but I KNOW in my heart you will be just fine!!!!!! you just have to remember time for yourself right now. otherwise you will be no help to joey. i think in away you going to the hotel for the week might help you relax alittle and take time for yourself. you will need you energy!!!

Elisa is now in a hotel about 10 min. from the baby. SHe will be there for a week. Please pray that next week she can get back into the Ronald McDonald house

he is having up and down days. elisa is back at the ronald mcdonald house . they moved him into a regular room as they are exspecting him to be their alot longer. so they felt it was thebest for him. I will tell elisa to comeon when she can to update you all. thank you for all your supprt

hey everyone I got even better news!! Joey is now in his own room no more NICU.. He is in what they call progressive care.
I met with most of the team of doctors today and the news is he will be here for at least a month more. But that's not all since they changed the O2 to 2 litters when eating. He finishes most of his bottles, but has his days and nights mixed up!! I have kinda a web TV thing here so I can at least keep up.
I come here to the ronald mcdonald house to eat and for showers and to upload pics. There are a few new ones in his pics. Thanks Janet for updating them. I will sure update more as soon as I can ty all.
