Need Help - Pet Sitter:

We have had one experience w/ a pet sitter for our dog and it was horrible (It was a boarding type facility - what was I thinking?? ) So, now that we have booked a trip for August we are worried about finding someone who will take good care of her. She is, without a doubt, the "loved dog" and I'm proud of it! We treat her like a member of the family so she is much more than just a pet. That being said, I have abnormally high standards for what I want in a sitter for her.

It is to the point where I hesitate going away at the idea that she might not be in the best possible care. I'm sure all of you animal lovers can understand where I'm coming from.

DH and I would really like someone who can sit for her in the privacy of their own home. She would spend the week at their house and they would care for her - like we do - in the privacy and comfort of a HOME. Without this type of sitter Char will never be able to get the one-on-one attention she deserves and, frankly, is used to getting.

Sorry this is rather long - does anyone have any pet sitter recs?? I live in Northport/Fort Salonga area but we are willing to travel. Thank you so much!! I know you guys will be understanding about how important it is for us to find a reliable sitter for her who will care for her like we do.

if my sis wasn't due in august, i would totally do it!!!!i will be too busy then

my parents are thinking about not going to mexico in may bc they are afraid rocky with miss them too much and hes slept with them for the last 2.5 years so bleieve me, I KNOW the love you have for her since my parents, siblings, and I have the same for Rocky

We have a pet sitter we really like and trust. She only takes smaller breed dogs and takes no more then two at a time. She is a very warm kind person who asked us questions that another sitter did not. It is a little bit of a hike for you, she is in Levittown. If you want any info. please feel free to FM me.

I dont know anyone who does this privately, but we have used Cozy Noses in Bohemia. It was rated #1 boarding facility by News 12 on Long Island

We paid extra money to have Murray let out of the cage during the day for playtime

Charlie would be staying in the training section, not here but the suites look really nice.

Would you be willing for your dog to be babysat at someone's home instead of your home?

I may know more people willing to do that than coming to someone's house.

I don't know what kind of dog you have, but I know a lady that boards only goldens and labs at her house. It is amazing. Her bedroom is set up with dog beds all over so they can sleep where ever they want. The back yard is like a country club for dogs. She is the only one I would ever leave my golden with. She is located in Huntington.
