2 year old speech question

My DS says a lot of words, some of them are not pronounced clearly. another thing that makes me wonder is his babble. he will babble , have a whole convo looking me in the eyes talking. but it doesn't make any sense , he will throw a few words in there that I can understand.

Is this normal? I can only compare him to some of my friends children who seem much more advanced ( they are in daycare, if that makes a difference?) . his well check is next month so I will ask the PED as well.

I guess I worry bc the three other boys (2-3 year olds and a 4 yr old) in our family all received EI for speech, 2 of them have to go to a different school for speech.

DS just turned two. He also babbles entire conversations with me. He has many word approximations, doesnt say the whole word but I know what he means.

i had him tested two weeks ago and he did not qualify for services. My feeling is it cant hurt to have the evaluation.
