2 year molars ? for btdt mommies...
When your DCs 2 year molars were coming in did they seem to almost make them sick? Whiny, clingy, crying a lot and NO appetite? He seems warm, but not showing a temp. He will NOT eat anything but popsicles... Please help... Anyone know or have any advice? I have given Motrin. Thanks!
ETA: I just checked his temp... 100.4. Teething with molars or do I need to call the ped tomorrow?

I don't know - he was awful with every tooth he cut - he is now cutting the molars and despite drooling and chewing on his fingers, he has been amazing, but it CAN happen, I've heard - check in with the ped... can't hurt!

DD is 2 1/2 and just got the 2 bottoms. She is extra clingy and whinning but no fever. Alot of children get fevers and 100.4 really isn't high. Doesn't hurt to call if its not the norm for him though. Hope they cut through fast!

i'm sorry i don't have much advice. when DD's teeth were coming in (no 2 yrs yet) she acted the same way. it seems like you are doing all that you can and you just have to wait it out unfortunately. just keep offering cold soft foods too and use the tylenol and motrin when needed. i was wondering too: how do you know the molars are coming in? i saw the 1 yr molars coming in but cannot get into DD's mouth to see the others. is there a way or a "trick" to see in there? where are they-more towards the back?

typically with the second molars there is no fever, however with the first molars there is. But every child is different. are his cheeks red, drooling, fingers in mouth, doesnt want any food that requires chewing, cant sleep? We rec tylenol. I have used it for DD and it worked right before bedtime, she is currently getting in her last two upper molars. I feel so bad for kids when these teeth cut through.

My babysitter stuck her finger in his mouth and told me. I THINK they are more toward the back but I'm not sure about that. Babysitter just told me that she slides his finger along the side of the gum and then over it. I have NEVER been able to get my finger in his mouth but my babysitter is like the baby whisperer. LOL

Yes to all of those. His cheeks are EXTREMELY red, drooling a ton, sticking his whole hand in his mouth all the time and will not eat anything but fruit snacks or popsicles. I hope it's just teething, and if it is I hope it passes soon for him...

Re: 2 year molars ? for btdt mommies...
Well, his fever this morning is 102.3. So, I don't think the fever has to do with teething. He is DEFINITELY teething but I think something else is going on too..... My poor little man. He's miserable.
