2 Rooms + 2 Kids

Do they

1) Share a room and have a playroom

2) Each have their own room

Reasons?

They each have their own room and then my livingroom is more of a familyroom/playroom (their toys ar in their). My 2 wouldn't last in the same room, especially since they didn't start out like that.

Soon to be 2 kids and each have own room. We have a finished basement and one side is the play area. I couldn't imagine my son and daughter sharing the same room. Maybe if they were the same sex, but if I have 2 bedrooms then I prefer they each be in seperate rooms...

well they share now.

I say to do a bedroom for each of them and then they can just play in both rooms.

Dh says they share a room now, so let them share and then put all of their toys in one room.

Decisions decisions..

Jennifer.....I am in the same boat as you with our kids only being 10 months apart. I have 2 girls though. However, if I was having a boy they were going to share a room. There was no way around it.
I'd much rather have a playroom. If there were other options like a basement then that's a different story.
The kids are so little yet. To each is own but I know if I only had 2 rooms I'd make the other a playroom. It would only be for now right? It's not like it's forever!

Re: 2 Rooms + 2 Kids

My girls (14 months apart) share a room and will still be sharing a room when we move.

The living room is their playroom, i have no toys in their room, only tons of books.

ETA: We only have 2 bedrooms so we don't have a choice, but if #2 was a boy they'd still share, you def have a couple years til they need their own room.

I like to keep their toys in the room we are in the most, hence the lvg room, i don't like having the girls out of my sight while they play.

Right now, DS and DD have their own rooms, and after our reno, they will still have their own rooms, plus there will be a dedicated "game/toy" room where most of their toys will (hopefully... Chat Icon ) stay.

They share a room and our other bedroom is an office/guestroom.

Their toys are all in my den and living room, since they are basically downstairs all day except for naps and bedtime.

I think while they are little it is fine for them to share. When they get older I would split them up if you have the room so they each have their own space. Right now, everything is their space so it doesn't really need to me defined.

They share now, when they get a little older we will leave it up to them as to whether or not they want to share.

Re: 2 Rooms + 2 Kids

They share a room and a playroom. We have a cape and have 2 bedrooms upstairs and 2 rooms downstairs. There's no convenient way to split us up until they're a bit bigger -- and then DH and I will move downstairs and they will have their own room upstairs and share a bathroom. Unless we go through with our dormer renovation idea and then we'll all be upstairs.

The playroom is the 2nd 'bedroom' downstairs. Hannah's too little for a playroom, but I have a crib and changing table area for her in it.

Re: 2 Rooms + 2 Kids

I say give them each their own room. Then they can put their own toys in their own rooms, and then you can do a girly room and a boy room instead of finding something gender neutral for both rooms.
