1st pediatrician appt tomorrow:update!
I'm a little nervous. I don't know why! I have a list of questions, but honestly I don't know if I"ll ask many of them. I feel kind of silly interviewing a doctor. What was your experience with meeting pediatricians?
ETA: We met with Dr. Woletsky this morning and he was great. We felt really comfortable with him. We're still going to meet with a few more docs, but I would feel very good going to him.

I didn't interview our ped., he was very highly recommened by our family.
But don't be nervous, you have every right to check them out first.
I'd ask about after hours policy. Like if there is an emergency, will you get a call back in a reasonable amount of time?

I go Monday morning. I have no idea what to ask besides hours and how hard it is to get a doctor on the phone/call you back or make an appointment last minute. Ugh

Is the doctor board certified?
Is there a separate waiting room for sick children?
What are the doctors views on breastfeeding and circumscicion (if you have a boy)?
Vaccinations,when are they done?
How long has the doctor been in practice?
If a solo practice, who handles issues when this doctor is away?
If you have any special issues or concerns, also bring those up.
Good luck! And ask all the questions you want. They need your business and should try to sell themselves.

We went & "interviewed" one dr. & walked out confident in him. HOWEVER, he answered all my q's b4 we could even ask. They are used to the drill...definitely check out their waiting room & their front office staff. See how long you wait; see if you feel comfortable w/ the doctor & if its easy asking him q's. You are going to be w/ this person for 16-18 years!!!

Is he in the Bayshore/islip area? That was the name of my ped. when I was little.

He joined my Ped. practice when I was a little older, but he was my Dr at some point and my little brothers for a long time.
