My realtor explained that ppl list like this to get a broader range of ppl to check their house out. You can offer the starting price point, but they can say no.

Yes - it's really a way to get people in the door and start the negotiations. They will entertain offers between that amount. But that is a HUGE range and has to be a typo IMO.

Yea I know i've asked why they do this already in a previous post, but I've mostly seen ranges of $50k or less... i'm thinking it's a typo too on this one.

Another example is this house in Bethpage LINK
I have seen and its a great house. Def not worth the hgh end of the range though. The neighborhood, is kind of blah and there are like 5 houses on the block for sale. Kinda weird - like something may be wrong on the block - why is everyone moving!! And just a PS, these listing agents were the biggest witches ever!!!!

I think its a typo. Probably meant to read $530,876 to $585,000??? Still a huge price range if you ask me though
