I just hope that the market gets better.....We paid a decent amount for our house, so im not worried about that. I am just worried that we may of put too much into it.

Re: Does anyone else who already bought a home....

The only reason I dont worry about it too much is because we bought this house with long term in mind. We plan to be here 10 years +++.
So I figure why worry about it, I love my house, although we probably could have gotten it for less, I think we paid a fair amount and we are not stretched financially. So overall I am happy!

You know what, I am going to adopt this mindset. We too will be here for at least 5-7 more years so I should just stop worrying. Chat Icon

I think about it but I wouldn't say I'm worried. I do think about this when we consider making renovations, though. Who's knows what will happen but I have a feeling we'll be in this house for a looooooong time.

Re: Does anyone else who already bought a home....

we bought the end of '05, but i don't worry about prices fluctuating because we'll be in the house for awhile, we didn't buy it as a temporary thing. inevitablely housing prices will go back up, it may take a decade though.

Same here.

We didn't over extend ourselves and we have no intentions of moving in the near future.

For the most part, no. The price may drop a bit over the next year or so, but we plan to stay there long term, so it will creep up again eventually.

Re: Does anyone else who already bought a home....

Our house was less than 300K when we bought in 2003. We did not care about the school district as we had no children. So...no not really. I think we will still make a small amount of profit on our house. It was a starter house for us. We always knew we wouldn't live here forever. Now we are seruiously considering moving to Charleston, SC.

Re: Does anyone else who already bought a home....

Not that I worry, but I am aware of the housing market. I just like to "keep track". We aren't going anywhere, we bought a house we love, so we don't worry about it's worth and if we are going to make money on it or not.

Re: Does anyone else who already bought a home....

I'm a worrier, so I think about it all the time, especially as we took out a large HELOC for construction.

Fortunately, even though we bought at the height 2 years ago, we got a great house for a great price. I have no idea what it is worth since we did our extension, but when we got it valued for the HELOC it had increased $100k from what we paid.

We're here for the long-term, so hopefully it was a good investment.Chat Icon
