12 weeks pregnant - Urine smells, very lightheaded... (sorry TMI)

I first noticed a change yesterday after me and DH . Immediately after, I had brownish discharge and a REALLY fishy smell. Now, I just went to the bathroom and WOW... the smell was really strong/fishy. (sorry this is so gross and WAAAAY TMI).

I do notice my urine can be very dark and cloudy, but I'm not really noticing any other "symptoms"... other than getting EXTREMELY light headed in the morning, like my blood sugar level is way down. That problem sometimes reappears during the day, too.

I haven't been eating/drinking all that well because of the nausea... and now because I'm sick with a bad cold, too (What else? ).

I have my first appt with the perinatologist tomorrow for them to do my ultrascreen. I'm hoping they can do a urine test for infection and maybe tell me about why I'm light headed.

I passed my 1 hour glucose that my doc had me do at around 5 weeks. I had PCOS, so I'm afraid of getting Gestational Diabetes. Is the light headedness and smelly urine a possible sign? I hope not!!!

Are you hydrated enough? The darker your urine is, the more dehydrated you are. Try to rest and drink a lot of water, and definitely follow up with your OB. I don't know anything about the smell unfortunately - I have heard it may be a sign of a vaginal infection, but I'd really suggest talking to your OB.

im not sure why they would do your 1 hour so early, my doc says that even people with diabetes before pregnancy have great numbers up until around twenty-something weeks... but on that note, I dont think these are symptoms of that... I have gd and this is not on the list of symptoms for low or high blood sugar.

I would definitly tell the perinatologist all about your symptoms

Could be a UTI? If your urine is that dark though, you need to drink more. I know it's hard when you are sick, suck on ice chips if you can.

I will definitely bring this up to the doc tomorrow. I would put money on having a UTI at this point. Even though there are really no other symptoms.

My DH mixed some Plum Smart Juice with a LOT of water, which made it SO easy to catch up on my water intake! It blends very well... and is high in fiber, so two birds, one stone.

The dark urine means you need to drink more water, mine gets like that when I'm starting to get dehydrated.

The fishy smell I'm pretty sure is from sex. There is something about the mixing of vaginal secretions and semenal secretions that creates this fishy smell, I get it after DH and I have sex, I usually have to take a shower after we do it.

Definitely wouldn't ignore it.

The peri should be able to do a urine test for bacteria. If not definitely call the ob.

Sounds like a combo of dehydration and UTI. But you never really know until they test your urine.

The fishy smell def. sounds like a bacterial infection. You really need to see your dr. about this.

The dark urine sounds like dehydration or could also be from a bacterial infection.
